2018 SEPEP Program

The students in grade 5/6 will be participating in a modified SEPEP program throughout term 4.

SEPEP is a student centred approach to Physical Education which takes the best parts of community sport to enhance student learning. The philosophy behind SEPEP is for students to experience a program which mirrors “real life” sport.

As a group:

  • Rules are created and agreed upon;
  • Students remain in their house team for the season so that they can identify with it;
  • Results are recorded and a premiership ladder is kept;
  • Students take on the positions of responsibility eg. umpire, equipment set up, match write up, photographer, scorer and referee, in addition to playing.

Peer teaching becomes a feature as students want their team to do well and help other students to succeed. There are social benefits for students through working with others in a variety of situations.

This year the program will be based around Tag Rugby.
